Now half my files, on lightroom, are missing, and it is kind of hard to track them. ![]() when i first got lightroom, i didnt know that the system would be messed up if you move your files outside of lightroom. ![]() Is there a way to completely reset lightroom 5? heres what i mean. (wherever quotation marks are used in this post you don't need to use them when searching your computer." Just delete the entire folder if you didn't install your catalog in the default location suggested by Lightroom you'll have to find it by searching for "*.lrcat" and deleting the entire folder. By default your catalog will be at "//Users//Pictures/Lightroom/ folder" on a Mac or "C:\Users\\Pictures\Lightroom\ folder" (Windows). I would also suggest deleting your old catalog before restarting. Now when you restart Lightrrom 5 it will rebuild a new plist/agprefs file and allow you to start fresh. The file location on a Windows computer is hidden by default so you will not be able to navigate to it unless you turn on the "Show Hidden Folders and Files" function in Windows which I why I suggested searching with Windows Explorer instead. ![]() If you prefer not to search your hard drive, the plist file is located at //Users//Library/Preferences/ on a Mac, or C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\ on a Windows computer. Exit Lightroom, then search your hard drive and delete the file named "" (Mac) or "Lightroom 5 Preferences.agprefs" (Windows).
